Greg Eurell Thoroughbred Training comprises of two properties:

The main stable “Cadet Lodge” is located at 45A Craig Road in Cranbourne and is the base for all of our horses heading towards racing. Most horses will do 4-6 weeks in pre-training before coming to Cadet. We have extensive facilities to comfortably accommodate forty horses, which include a courtyard of loose boxes, large airy undercover yards, day paddocks and a walking machine with the capacity for 10 horses. It is a very relaxed atmosphere with a rural outlook for the horses. The horses are trained at the Cranbourne Training Complex a 2 minute truck ride away where full use is made of the excellent track facilities and swimming pool (we have a large 15 horse semi to take them down each day) Greg’s Assistant trainer John Baker is in charge of this facility and our racing office is also located on this site.

Breaking & Pre-Training

Our breaking and pre-training farm “Blue Mane” has a long association with Champion horses and was the base for the horses competing at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, it is located 10 minutes away from Cadet on the Western Port Hwy in Skye. We have approximately 50 acres here and the capacity for approximately 45 horses in work with an 800m sand training track, round yard and schooling arena. There is a range of accommodation for the horses with stables in the barn, day yards and paddocks available to cater for every horses needs. We also have agistment facilities for approx 20. Most of our horses are with us from word go – they arrive directly from the yearling sales or breeders and we take responsibility for their education and training from there which means by the time they are ready to race they are pretty much part of the family and well known to Greg and the Staff. Ty Poulton is the Manager for Blue Mane and is also our head horse breaker.
