Record Breaking Chelmsford Stakes winner and Stallion O’Lonhro is emerging from the pack with his progeny, currently sitting fourth on the 3rd season sire’s list for winners to runners with sires having had a minimum of 20 runners.
The latest addition to that number was our very own Big Boy Jackie who won his last start at Mornington in a change of tactics. Prior to his spell Big Boy Jackie was given no peace in front when only beaten 3.1 lengths over the mile. The start before Big Boy Jackie was posted 3 wide with no cover the entire trip but was still making ground to the line only to be beaten 2.3 lengths.
Coming back after a break, Big Boy Jackie become the hunter instead of the hunted. With Jessica Payne in the saddle and drawing barrier 1, she settled Big Boy Jackie three back the fence. Mid-race Jessica was able to get off the fence and position Big Boy Jackie where he was ready to pounce. With a bit of encouragement, Big Boy Jackie bullocked his way through the pack and went on to win quite convincingly. There are much better things in store for Big Boy Jackie. Congratulations to the owners in Sandra Letten & Danielle Eurell. Congratulations must also go to the team at Cadet Lodge for their great work in preparing Big Boy Jackie for the race.
We can’t forget about O’Lonhro either, the emerging stallion is sure to continue producing tough, determined racehorses with a great attitude and will to win. He seems to stamp them that way. Here at Cadet will welcome them with open arms.
